Academic Integrity
The standards we expect from every participant. Last updated: June 2026.
The National Economics Challenge (NEC) and the China National Economics Challenge (CNEC) reward genuine learning and fair competition. As the official China test center, we are committed to upholding these standards and ask every student, coach and school to do the same.
1. What we expect
- All work submitted in any round is the participants’ own;
- Students compete honestly, individually and as a team, within the rules of their division;
- Participants follow all competition rules, proctoring instructions and time limits;
- No unauthorised materials, devices or outside assistance are used during tests or timed components.
2. Prohibited conduct
The following are considered breaches of academic integrity:
- Plagiarism or presenting others’ work as your own;
- Cheating, or using unauthorised notes, devices or communication during an assessment;
- Impersonation — sitting a test, or having someone sit a test, on another person’s behalf;
- Sharing, copying, leaking or distributing test questions or content;
- Fabricating results, eligibility information or registration details;
- Collusion beyond the collaboration permitted for your team;
- Any other attempt to gain an unfair advantage.
3. Consequences
Suspected breaches are reviewed and handled under the official competition rules. Depending on severity, outcomes determined by the organizing committee may include cancellation of scores, disqualification, or being barred from current or future rounds. As the China test center, we support and help enforce these decisions.
4. Coaching done the right way
Our coaching and trial classes are designed to help students prepare honestly — building real understanding, exam technique and teamwork. We never provide live answers during a competition or complete a student’s work for them.
5. Reporting a concern
If you become aware of a suspected breach of academic integrity, please report it to us through our Contact page. Reports are treated confidentially.
6. Official rules prevail
This statement summarises our expectations. The organizer’s official competition rules and decisions govern all matters of eligibility, conduct and results, and take precedence in the event of any conflict.
